What do you actually keep?
Your home country taxes income heavily. Paraguay works very differently. Pick the profile that fits you best and see what the same income leaves you with in each place. You enter nothing personal.
How we calculate, and the nuances that matter
Paraguay, active income (business owner / freelancer): under the IRE Simple regime you pay 10% on a deemed profit of 30% of turnover, roughly 3% effective. As a sole trader there is no extra dividend tax when you take the profit privately. This holds up to roughly USD 250,000 turnover; above that the excess falls under the general regime of 10% profit tax plus 8% dividend tax, so the effective rate rises gradually.
The key nuance: if you work from Paraguay and invoice a foreign client, that is local income, not foreign income. The 0% exemption applies only to passive foreign income: interest, dividends, capital gains, royalties and rent, which must still be declared. There is no wealth tax and no inheritance tax.
Pensions: Paraguay has very few tax treaties. Without one, your home country generally retains the right to tax your pension, so we show that continuing home-country tax in the Paraguay column. The outcome depends on your age, the type of pension and your situation.
Home-country figures use simplified 2026 rates and thresholds and assume the full profit is distributed. Netherlands: BV owner (corporate plus Box 2), Box 1 up to 49.5%, investors in Box 3. Germany: GmbH owner (~30% plus 26.4% on payout), Einkommensteuer up to 45%, flat 26.4% on investments. Belgium: company owner plus 30% dividend tax, up to 50% plus municipal surcharge, 30% on dividends and interest. France: 25% corporate plus 30% PFU, scale up to 45% with a high-income surtax, 30% PFU on investments, IFI wealth tax on real estate only. United Kingdom: corporation tax plus dividend tax up to 39.35%, 20/40/45% with the personal allowance tapered over £100k. UK figures are in pounds.
All amounts are illustrative, rounded simplified indications based on public information, not personal tax, legal or financial advice. Rates, thresholds and rules change and differ per situation. The Dutch Box 3 system from 2028 is still a bill awaiting the Senate. Always have your situation reviewed by a qualified adviser before acting.
This is the difference on paper. Your situation is personal.
The details decide everything: latent tax debts, residency rules, and whether your income is genuinely foreign. We help you get it right.
Simplified 2026 indications for orientation, not tax advice. Figures should be confirmed for your own situation.
The same life, two countries
Pick a household and a lifestyle and see how much lower your monthly costs are in Paraguay compared with where you live now. You enter nothing personal.
Where does the difference sit?
Estimated monthly costs per category, in euros.
All your options side by side
This is what life costs. What you keep is another story. What is left at the end of the month also depends on your income and tax, and that is where Paraguay’s territorial system makes the biggest difference. See the tax comparison just above, then talk to us about your own situation.

- European cities: 2026 market data (Numbeo, Wise, Expatica) for rent and everyday costs in the city centre.
- Paraguay: current local market knowledge plus public figures. Electricity is very cheap, internet around 30 euro a month, and a private health plan replaces public cover.
- Exchange rates used: about 7,500 guaraní per euro, and about 1.17 euro per British pound (2026). When the United Kingdom is selected, both sides are shown in pounds so the comparison stays in one currency.
- Rent is for the free-market sector in the city centre. Smaller cities and longer local contracts are often lower, which is why we offer a cheaper second city per country.
- Household scaling: a couple shares one home and spends more on daily costs; a family of four is modelled on a three-bedroom home.
- Capitals are the most expensive city in each country, so the saving shown is the high end. Moving from a smaller home city narrows the gap.
This tool gives an indication based on market information and is meant to give a feel for the price difference. It is not personal financial or tax advice. Exchange rates, rents and prices change constantly. Always have your own situation calculated separately before making decisions.
