1. Who We Are

Paraguay Compass is a residency and relocation service run from Asunción, Paraguay, and Eindhoven, the Netherlands. We are responsible for the personal data described in this policy. Contact: info@paraguaycompass.com.

2. What Data We Collect

What you send us through the contact form or the consultation form: name, email address, phone or WhatsApp number, nationality, preferred language, the package you are interested in and your message.
Messages you send us by email or WhatsApp, including your phone number and your WhatsApp profile name.
If you book a call through Calendly: your name, email address, the time you choose and your answers to the booking questions (your nationality, preferred language and what you want to discuss).
If you use the free emigration check: your answers (nationality, who is moving, how you will support yourself, your timing and what you want help with). They only reach us if you leave your contact details after the result.
If you accept cookies: data about how you use the site, such as pages visited, time on site, device type, approximate location and how you arrived (for example through a Google ad).
Technical data our hosting provider records when you load a page, such as your IP address, browser type and the time of the request.
We do not ask for sensitive data such as health information, political opinions or religious beliefs. If you become a client, we need documents such as your passport and a criminal record certificate to handle your application. We tell you in advance exactly which documents we need and why.

3. Why We Use Your Data

To answer your questions, prepare a proposal and, if you become a client, provide our services (needed to prepare and carry out a contract at your request).
To measure how the website is used and how well our Google ads work, only if you accept all cookies (your consent).
To keep the website secure and running (our legitimate interest).
To send you information you asked for, such as a newsletter you signed up for (your consent).
We never sell or rent your personal data.

4. Cookies and Similar Technologies

On your first visit we ask which cookies you accept.

Essential: a cookie that remembers your cookie choice (cookie_consent, kept for 12 months). Always active.
Analytics: Google Analytics 4, which shows us which pages are visited and how. Loaded only if you accept all cookies. Google Analytics 4 does not store IP addresses.
Advertising measurement: the Google Ads tag, which records whether a visit from one of our Google ads led to a contact form submission (a conversion) and whether visitors click our WhatsApp link. Loaded only if you accept all cookies. Google then places cookies such as _gcl_au in your browser, kept for up to 90 days.
If you choose essential cookies only or reject cookies, no analytics or advertising tags are loaded.
To change your choice, delete the cookies for paraguaycompass.com in your browser settings. The cookie banner will then appear again.

5. Who Receives Your Data

Netlify, Inc. (United States): hosts the website, processes form submissions and keeps technical logs.
Google: email through Google Workspace, Google Analytics and Google Ads (the last two only with your consent).
WhatsApp (Meta): if you message us on WhatsApp, WhatsApp handles the message under its own privacy policy.
Calendly, LLC (United States): if you book a consultation call, Calendly handles the booking and adds it to our calendar.
Our local partners in Paraguay, such as gestors, translators and notaries, but only if you become a client and only the information needed for your application.

6. Transfers Outside the EU

Some of these providers process data in the United States. These transfers are covered by the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or by the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses. Because we work in Paraguay, the client data needed for your application is also processed there.

7. How Long We Keep Data

Form submissions and emails about an enquiry: 12 months after our last contact, unless you become a client.
Client files: as long as needed for your application and for legal record-keeping obligations.
Google Analytics data: up to 14 months.
Google Ads cookies: up to 90 days.
Your cookie choice: 12 months.

8. Your Rights Under GDPR

If you live in the EU or EEA, you have the right to access your personal data, have it corrected or deleted, restrict or object to its processing, and receive it in a portable format. Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time. To use any of these rights, email info@paraguaycompass.com. You can also complain to a data protection authority, such as the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens in the Netherlands or the authority in your own country.

9. Changes to This Policy

We update this policy when our services or tools change. The date at the top shows when the current version was published.
